Why Us?

Here at Stride Strong, we strive to give you the best services you need. All of our treatments – from exercise to taping to iontophoresis – are tried-and-true methods that have shown to be effective. In addition to manual therapy and exercise physical therapy, we employ several other modalities to help assist you in your recovery. These modalities may be sought out specifically by your doctor because of their proven efficacy in treatment. We are happy to provide you any scientific literature that supports their usage.

Video gait analysis
We are able to videotape your run or walk and analyze your biomechanics through our Video Gait Analysis. This tool allows us to piece together an explanation of how your run or walk is affected by injury, and why your injury came about. We can also record before-and-after footage to see how you have changed within your treatment period with us. This is a service that will not only be useful during your treatment interim, but also beneficial in preventing any future injuries. (For more info and photos, click here.)

ASTYM
This is a manual technique we use to help heal and remodel soft tissue injuries. ASTYM dramatically loosens up tight muscle and tissue within one visit – so efficacy is very high. We typically use ASTYM for issues such as tendonitis, muscle cramps/spasms and tight, restricted joints. Patient report feeling looser and gain significant improvements in range of motion. Your therapist here at Stride Strong is ASTYM certified. (For more information on ASTYM, click here.)
Gameready vasopneumatic compression
The Gameready is a unit that delivers cold therapy and compression therapy through a sleeve that surrounds your involved joint. Proven very effective on swollen, inflamed and painful joints, it provides intermittent compression to flush inflammatory fluids away and cold therapy to reduce further inflammatory responses. The Gameready offers much-needed pain relief to those who are recovering after surgery, such as a knee arthroscopy, or for those recovering from an acute ankle sprain.
Exercise
Our physical therapists are doctoral-trained to design and guide you through exercises that would benefit you. We give out Home Exercise Programs on your first visit so you can quickly get started on your path to recovery. Exercises are an essential piece of your rehab – in many cases it is the fundamental modality to get you back to striding stronger.
Iontophoresis
This is a patch that is topically applied to the injured body area. Most effective on areas of localized pain such as tendons, the patch drives an anti-inflammatory drug called Dexamethosone through your skin pores and into the tissue. Unlike, oral anti-inflammatories (like Advil) that are passed through your whole body system, iontophoresis ensures the drug is effectively targeting the body part in question. Iontophoresis is particularly effective for treating tendonitis.
